UWB Communication Characteristics for Different Materials and Shapes of the Stairs
نویسندگان
چکیده
A comparison of ultra-wideband (UWB) communication characteristics for two different shapes of stairs with concrete and iron materials are investigated. The impulse responses of these stairs are computed by shooting and bouncing ray/image (SBR/Image) techniques and inverse Fourier transform. Numerical results show that the bit error rate (BER) of binary-pulse amplitude modulation (B-PAM) system for the concrete case is smaller than that for the iron case. Finally, it is worth noting that in these cases the present work provides not only comparative information but also quantitative information on the performance reduction.

A Novel Volcano Smoke Antenna with Optimal Shape
The design of a novel volcano smoke antenna for UWB indoor applications is presented. The design method is based on a general description for the geometry of UWB monopole antennas which is capable of producing most possible shapes for these antennas. It is also compatible with different optimization methods. In addition to a volcano smoke antenna, this method is used to design two optimized mon...
متن کاملUltra Wideband Monopole Antenna Excited by a Capacitive Coupling Feed with Double Band Notch Function
This paper presents the results of a new monopole antenna that exhibits 2.75-10.7 GHz performance. The proposed antenna consists of a radiating patch with notches excited by capacitive coupling feed. Also, the antennas truncated ground-plane incorporates a central notch. This modification significantly improves the antennas impedance bandwidth by 118% over an ultra-wideband frequency range. T...
متن کامل1 Design of Microstrip Patch Antenna Using Slotted Partial Ground And Addition Of Stairs And Stubs For UWB Application
This paper presents the design with optimum geometry of a novel UWB rectangular patch antenna. A simple narrowband patch antenna is designed before proceeding to the geometry of UWB antenna. A special configuration of patch antenna with slotted partial ground and addition of stairs and stubs was designed and optimized using CST Microwave Studio (CSTMWS). The designed antenna was fabricated, tes...
متن کاملCompact CPW-fed Circular Patch Antenna for UWB Applications
In this paper, a novel CPW-fed antenna is presented for UWB applications. The antenna mainly comprises of a simple circular patch and a modified ground plane. The inclusion of two novel symmetrical rectangular slots with inner area of 3×2.8 mm2 to the top corners of the antenna creates a new path for the current and consequently leads to the bandwidth enhancement. A rectangular stub is also ado...
متن کاملUWB Planar Conical Horn-Shaped Self-Complementary Bow-Tie Antenna
An ultra-wideband (UWB) self-complementary planar bow-tie antenna (SCPBTA) is proposed. The antenna consists of a printed conical horn-shaped (CHS) radiator and a counterpart CHS slot etched on a rectangular ground plane. The printed CHS radiator is connected directly to the 50Ω microstrip line by bending the end portion of the feed line. As a result, the antenna has a simple structure which do...
